Tri-State-Kayakers is intended for both beginning and experienced recreational kayakers from the Cincinnati, Indiana, and Northern Kentucky areas to share their passion for the sport of kayaking. Come and meet other fun people and enjoy some exercise too. All levels from beginning to advanced are welcome. We will enjoy weekly hikes in various locations. Although are main emphasis is on hiking we also schedule other activities for fun and exercise. Such as biking, climbing, kayaking, bowling, roller skating, and snow tubing. Various trips to local botanicial gardens, zoos, caves, and historical houses are also planned.
This group was started because several Meetup members have expressed an interest in kayaking and canoeing. We all know it's always more fun and safer to go paddling with others. The purpose of this group is to provide a group of fellow paddlers with whom to go kayaking and canoeing. A large group of people will provide a wide variety of experiences from which we can all enhance our abilities. This group is open to anyone, not just Sierra Club members. There is no charge for trips, other than permit fees (when required). The Miami Group is the local chapter of Sierra Club for Southwest Ohio. Miami Group has a long history of leading various types of outings: Paddling, Hiking, Biking, Backpacking, Camping and Service Outings. All outings are led by leaders who have been certified to meet local and national Sierra Club standards.
The Dirty Martinis... A cycling, mountain biking, hiking, "Tough Mudder training, running, kayaking, and general get outside/get dirty activities chased with the occasional adult beverage. In other words, we like to play hard, but also relax with like minded active people over adult beverages on occasion.
Our activities include backpacking, hiking, camping, bicycling, canoeing, kayaking, rafting, cross-sountry skiing and dog sleding. Founded in 1982, CIWC has over 150 members. CIWC is a non-profit volunteer-run club organized for the purpose of providing affordable wilderness adventures. Each year CIWC conducts trips ranging in length from one to ten days to destinations as diverse as southern Indiana, the Grand Canyon and the Smokey Mountains.
